A parish council meeting is a formal, public gathering where elected local councillors meet to make official decisions regarding their local community, such as managing village amenities, commenting on planning applications, and allocating a portion of council tax. These meetings are open to residents to observe and often include a public forum for community questions.

A parish council serves as the most local tier of government in England and plays an important role in shaping our village.

What Happens at a Meeting?

Official Business: Councillors discuss and vote on community matters, review local services, and manage budgets.

Public Participation: Members of the public can attend, and there is usually a dedicated segment (such as a public forum) where residents can speak, though they generally cannot vote on decisions.  At our meetings there is a 15min slot for this.
